This prestigious honor highlights the remarkable accomplishments and immense contributions of exceptional women in various fields across the state.
As the CEO of the Ulrich and Ruth Frank Foundation for International Health (known online as NextGenU.org) and the founder of Nurses International, Miriam has been a driving force behind globally scaled solutions for healthcare and education. Her strategic planning and innovative approach have led to the creation of programs that provide resources and education to thousands of healthcare professionals around the world. Some of the key programs she directs include The Addiction Training for Health Professionals Program, Humanitarian U, Public Health U, and STEPS (STEM teacher/student Education for Primary Schools).
Miriam was recognized for her steadfast commitment to creating globally scaled solutions for healthcare and education. The NextGenU.org platform freely provides learning materials through over 2,000 institutions and in every country, while Nurses International creates free, critically needed learning materials for nurses in over 120 countries. Humanitarian U has trained over 30,000 humanitarians globally, and Public Health U trains more than 150 Masters-Level Public Health students each year from 50 countries.
Among her recent accolades, Miriam also received the 2021 Humanitarian Service Award for Transformative Global Leadership in Democratizing Education from NHSD/Humanitarian Pakistan and co-authored research that received the 2021 Translating Science into Nursing Education award from Sigma Theta Tau with the US Nurses’ honor society.

She has demonstrated a keen ability to develop and implement programs that transform the lives of those in need.
